IN NOVA SCOTIA

Doing what we love. We bring out the best in each other. We're an unstoppable team dedicated to create the best experience for our clients.

Hi there!
We’re Mindy & Richard (Rick) Day.
I am from Pictou County and am a mother of three wonderful kids! Rick is from Stewiacke, and we found each other 2016. We very quickly fell in love and were married shortly thereafter. We have a son name Jack - Who is most definitely our entire world. As you will see from all of our social media feeds - and here on our website.

I’ve been photographing for over two decades, Rick joined me shortly after we had our son in 2017. We have been a photographing Kick-Ass team ever since!

Our personalities are a bit different, in the sense that I am more of an extrovert, whereas Rick is a bit on the introverted side. This bodes well for us photographically speaking because it allows us to capture images that speak to all emotions and feelings in a more authentic way. Our intentions are to provide you with purity and authenticity within every photo. We pride ourselves deeply with capturing truthful and powerful moments to your unique story.

Skilled in portraits with an emphasis on Wedding and Engagement photography; Specializing in the organic approach. Finding richness between the lines, in-depth emotions within the light and vibrant contrast between the colors; True-to-life photographs.

Always with a laid back dynamic, bringing a little fun and spice to your day.

A flash through our love story; We met while fishing on a dating app, POF… Our First official date was on May 14th 2016 and by July 21st we bought our first home together. Married August 27th 2016 and four days before our wedding day, found out we were pregnant with our son Jack, born April 2017.
I have been photographing since 2004. Rick joined me professionally in late 2017 and I can’t believe I’ve gone all that time without him. Partner in crime for sure!

A quality we are most proud of is our ability to laugh at ourselves, and not take anything too serious.

What kind of photographers are we on your wedding day?

Here are just some of the many ways we go above and beyond for you on your wedding day.

We will not hesitate to drop our hand in front of your face when we realize you have forgotten to spit out your gum as you’re about to walk down the aisle. It happens more than you’d think! And no we don’t think it’s gross - We have kids, we’ve had to do far worse!

No wedding planner or day of coordinator - No biggie, we’ve got you covered! We will be the dictator when needed, we can wrangle like nobody’s business. Do we recommend a wedding planner/coordinator - Absolutely. If you are looking for one, let us know and we will send you our recommendations.

We will be there to fluff your dress before you take the first steps down the aisle.

We are the kind of photographers who will be making sure all of the groomsmen’s zippers and belt loops are up and in order. Lol, it happens more than you would even know! The grooms zipper being down is very common. I’m not sure if they go to the bathroom more because of nerves, but I can’t tell you how many times I have had to edit a zipper. (Zooming in on this to edit is not how I want to be spending my afternoon - for hundreds of photos) HA!

We will do a full “Before leaving check”.
Brushed your teeth (Check)
Deodorant (Check)
Rings (Check)
Flowers (Check)
Tissues in cleavage (Check) It’s like an unwritten rule. Unless of course your dress has pockets.
On your period - Take lots of extra stuff with you! (Check)
I won’t go through the entire list, but I am sure you get the idea - We don’t want you stressing out because you missed something.

Rick and I divide and conquer. What we typically do is we will both begin with the one side of the wedding party, the bride’s side. Then after 30 minutes Rick will head over to the other side, the groom’s side. In doing this not only does it allow for us to work together in gather the details and behind the scenes but it provides you with someone to deliver items to the guys. Such as boutonnieres, rings, his vows book, gifts or love notes. Whatever needs to go to the guys he can take.
(Please know, although I am using Bride & Groom as my example here, we do not discriminate and welcome all of the loves. Bride & Bride - Groom & Groom!)
