Hi there!
We’re Mindy & Richard (Rick) Day, a husband-and-wife photography duo based in Nova Scotia.
I’m originally from Pictou County and a proud mom of three wonderful kids! Rick grew up in Stewiacke, and in 2016, fate brought us together. We fell in love fast, got married soon after, and in 2017, we welcomed our son, Jack—who, as you’ll quickly see from our social media and website, is the center of our world!
Photography has been my passion for over two decades, and when Jack arrived, Rick joined me on this creative journey. Since then, we’ve become an unstoppable team behind the lens, capturing love stories with a perfect balance of vision and heart.
Our personalities complement each other in the best way—I’m the outgoing, high-energy one, while Rick is more laid-back and observant. This dynamic allows us to photograph a wide range of emotions, from bold, expressive moments to quiet, intimate ones, all with authenticity and depth. Our goal is to create images that feel real—full of raw emotion, genuine connection, and storytelling at its finest.

A Glimpse Into Our Love Story
It all started with a catch—we met while fishing… on a dating app (POF, to be exact). Our first official date was on May 14, 2016, and by July 21, we had already bought our first home together. Fast forward to August 27, 2016, and we were saying "I do." Just four days before our wedding, we got the biggest surprise of all—we found out we were expecting our son, Jack, who arrived in April 2017 and completely changed our world.
One of the things we love most about our journey together? Our ability to laugh at ourselves and never take life too seriously. It keeps things fun, spontaneous, and full of joy—just the way we like it!

We’re more than just photographers—we’re your on-the-spot problem solvers, dress fluffers, and emergency go-to team.
Forgot to spit out your gum right before walking down the aisle? No worries—we’ll stick our hand out and take it. (Happens more than you’d think!) Gross? Not to us! We have kids… we’ve dealt with way worse.
No wedding planner or day-of coordinator? No problem! We’ll step in as needed—wrangling, organizing, and keeping things on track. Of course, we highly recommend having a planner, and if you need one, we’ve got fantastic recommendations. Just ask!
Dress check? ✔️ Groom’s zipper check? ✔️ (Seriously, you wouldn’t believe how often grooms forget this… and trust us, zooming in to edit a zipper for hundreds of photos is not our idea of a good time!)
Before you head down the aisle, we’ll do a full "Pre-Wedding Checklist" with you:

Deodorant? ✔️
Tissues tucked into your dress? ✔️ (Unless you’re lucky enough to have pockets!)
Period emergency kit? ✔️ (Better safe than sorry!)

When it comes to the big day, Rick and I divide and conquer. We typically start with the bridal party together, and after about 30 minutes, Rick heads over to the groom’s side. This means we can capture all the behind-the-scenes magic and make sure everything runs smoothly. Need someone to deliver the boutonnières, rings, vows, gifts, or love notes to the groom? Rick’s got it covered!
And just to be clear—we welcome and celebrate all love. Whether it’s Bride & Groom, Bride & Bride, or Groom & Groom, we’re here to document your love story in the most genuine way possible.
