Let’s Talk Engagement Session
Alright - It’s official! You’re getting married - The countdown is on!
Let’s celebrate together, with a beautiful engagement session. We’re sure you have lots of questions, lets see if we can’t answer them now.
Your engagement is meant to be celebration, a moment of love and FUN! Put the wedding planning aside for a few minutes and join us while we capture your perfectly, imperfect love.
Let us dive right in!
We’ll start with what to wear: Don’t try too hard, too matchy-matchy is not pretty. Just don’t do it. ;) Ball hats, logo shirts, sneakers that look like they have been run through the ringer, are all big No’s! For some inspiration check out these PIN’s we have setup on our Pinterest Board.
*Pro tip: If you’re comfortable in a flowy dress, we 100% recommend you wear one! The movement makes for incredible photographs.
Where should your session take place?: Well, honestly, we recommend picking a location that means something to you as a couple; A beach, park, café. If you don’t really have that “It” spot, we are happy to help you pick a location. Our go to locations typically consist of beaches, open fields, urban locations, i.e.: Downtown Halifax. Oh, and we are happy to travel if it makes life easier for you both.
Full warning, if we land on a beach or water location, you can bet your ass we will want you in the water at some point.Best time to do photos: You guessed it - Golden hour! This is roughly one hour before sunset. We tend do a lot of talking and like to take this time and get to know you better. With that in mind, sessions, on average take between 1-2 hours.
Why is your engagement session is so important?: We definitely don’t suggest skipping out on your complimentary engagement session. Without it there can be a bit of a disconnect on the big day. Not to mention it helps us tell your story. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your lives, we want to make sure we do it justice. We’re invested in you as a couple, your story has now become part of ours. That’s why we have the best jobs ever! xo
Let’s get you booked in! Weekends as you can imagine are pretty much off limits with our wedding schedule. However, Sundays are a bit more flexible at times. If doing a weekday is possible, perfect! Let’s chat a bit more and iron out the details.

Some key questions to ask yourself to help determine what time you will want your photographers to begin photographing.
1 - How many are in your wedding party?
2 - Are you both getting ready at the same location (i.e.: Hotel) ? If not, how far is the distance from one location to the other getting ready location?
3 - Will you be doing a first look with your partner?
4 - Are you wanting a first look with your dad, mom or other family member?
5 - Are there any children in the wedding party that will be getting ready with either of you?
6 - Is your ceremony being done with a JP or in a church? If church, will it be a full service?
7 - Is your dress a tie up, button up or zipper?
8 - Do you have thick or long hair? Is your hair going up in a full up-do, or are you leaving it down and just styled?
9 - Is your hair and makeup artists coming to you or are you going to them?
10 - How many of you will be getting makeup & hair done? Do you plan to hire multiple hair & makeup artists?
11 - Do you plan to do golden hour photos? (This is between 1 to 1.5 hours before sun is set and will play a significate part in choosing your wedding package.)
